The ignition cable is the connecting element between the current supply (ignition cap or coil) and the combustion chamber where it bonds with the air/fuel mixture to propel the vehicle.

This cable complies with the requirements of SAE J2031 – ISO 3808 – VDE079 – J557 for Class E high voltage ignition cable. The cable is equivalent to the characteristics of the first installation and consequently meets the requirements of Ber.

The conductor is a textile resistance element wrapped with a stainless steel wire and then coated with a conductive acrylic latex.  The conductor has a resistance of 5042 ohm/M to 6158 ohm/M (1707 + 170 ohm/ft.).

The conductor is insulated with an EPDM dielectric.  The insulation is placed concentrically around the conductor.  The diameter of the insulation is determined by the electrical requirements of the above standards.

Protective coating of silicone rubber is applied over the EPDM dielectric. The surface of the cable shall be smooth.  The cable shall be able to be processed on automatic cutting equipment.  The diameter of the finished cable shall be 7 + 0.25MM.  The color of the coating and optional printing will be as specified by the customer.  The purpose of the coating is to provide the cable with thermal resistance and resistance to chemicals commonly found in the engine compartment.

“It is very important to choose the cable and to keep up with the times and the ever-evolving technologies, says Paolo Braia, Plant Manager of Brecav Srl. The conductor is of the latest generation said: MAGWIRE, the advantage is to armor the conductor directly on the terminal and prevent potential loss of grip. The correct insulation of the conductor prevents current leakage and dynamics of unwanted discharges inside the engine compartment The safety of people and their families is always the focus in our products, the materials used are equivalent or exceed the quality of the original equipment.”
